A professional services firm with a healthcare focus

Chartis is a professional services firm with a deep specialty in the healthcare world. Their impressive expertise in the filed and rapidly growing portfolio of partners and acquisitions made this an exciting client to work with and help develop its brand strategy.

Building a flexible user experience

I knew going into this project that the client was growing and had acquired or was in the process of acquiring or partnering with other companies. Given this, I had to create a simple and flexible user interface that was easily themable.

As usual, the team started with a deep dive into stakeholder interviews and competitive analysis, and looked at keyword ranking and other data points. Using these I could establish a way forward to base  wireframes on.

Exploring design style

In terms of design, Chartis was coming from an illustrative based style as they were have governance issues with getting photography approved. When exploring design we explored a style using some of their existing illustrations, but also looked at photo based styles.

In the end, the client decided they wanted to bring the human element back into their brand and I developed a way to make stock photography feel more branded and custom by using bold graphic overlays to differentiate and add visual interest.

Building from the brand up

The client sought direction on how they could extend the design and brand ideas throughout their creative. I put together a brand book to show the thinking behind the brand.

It contained detailed direction on how to use brand elements, typography and photography to extend and elevate what had been a stale visual style.

Created while at Interactive Strategies.
